The Practice was founded by Tommie Egan at the commencement of WW2 and operating from home in Headford. He moved to the office at 12 St. Francis Street in the early 1950s. His son, Bryan joined and has run the practice since 1992 when Tommie retired. Though principally a Structural Engineer, Bryan has acquired a great deal of experience as an Architect, Surveyor, Cartographer, Transportation Engineer, Railway Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Planner, Researcher, Project Manager, Forensic Engineer, and Building Energy Rating (BER) assessor. Bryan's previous experience includes 14 years working in the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, working for small and large international Consultants and Contractors. Byran now operates as a sole trader.
